AirlineRatings.Com recently announced the Top 20 Safest Airlines for 2019. So which airline was named Safest Airline for 2019 and what does it take to be in the top 20?

Australia's Qantas Airways has again been named the world's safest airline and according to AirlineRatings.Com, this is due to Qanta's continued efforts in the area of safety innovation.

Included in the Top 20 were: Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, American Airlines, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, EVA Air, Finnair, Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Scandinavian Airline System, Singapore Airlines, Swiss, and United Airlines and Virgin group of airlines.

Airlines that moved into the Top 20 list made major investments in new aircraft.
